Hi! I’m Maddie.

I’m the type of therapist who understands how draining and lonely it feels to put constant pressure on ourselves to succeed, work hard, and be there for others all the time.  It can be exhausting to live life this way, but at the same time it can feel like it’s the only way we know how to survive.

My clients tell me that I have a calming and safe presence that helps them hear important messages in therapy–we connect dots between the past and the current which allows them to heal without judgement.

I provide therapy for adults & teens:

I help overwhelmed perfectionists reconnect with their emotions and build a life that feels calm, meaningful, and enough.

You feel like you must be “on” for everyone else and you don’t know how to turn it off. It’s exhausting! You stay busy by overachieving in life (though you feel like you’re never enough) or caretaking others’ feelings and needs (while your own remain invisible). It might feel like you don’t know how to relax or like you can’t let other people in even though you are always there for others. Others might think you seem cold or that you shut down instead of expressing your feelings.  You’re worried that if you do slow down, everything will fall apart!

Through therapy, you can feel relaxed, open, and enough–finally more connected to others and your life.

I also provide couples therapy:

I help couples who feel stuck in conflict learn to communicate with care, repair wounds, and rebuild intimacy.

You love each other but you’re exhausted from repeating the same painful arguments. One or both of you may have trauma that makes conflict scary, overwhelming, or intense. You might say things you regret, and afterward they feel ashamed or disconnected. Sex has become rare or tense, and you miss feeling close, playful, or intimate. You want help slowing down the conflict and reconnecting emotionally and physically.

Through therapy, you can feel close, safe and desired in your relationship.  You can feel like they care deeply about you–it can feel good again.

On a personal note…

I find a lot of joy in being out in nature and traveling, especially when it allows me to experience new places, cultures, and ways of living. I also have a deep appreciation for science and love learning about space. There’s something grounding about feeling both small and deeply connected to the universe at the same time.

Animals bring so much happiness into my life, and I’m especially devoted to my two corgis, who are truly my babies. In my downtime, I enjoy yoga, reading, arts and crafts, and curling up for a good Netflix binge. These moments help me reset, stay curious, and bring a sense of balance into both my personal life and my work as a therapist.
