Hi! I’m Ann Marie.
I’m the type of therapist who works best with people who are looking for therapeutic companionships as they are moving through a loss of someone or something very important. I will help you feel accepted and supported as you move towards peace & connection.
My clients tell things like, “I feel so much better when I see you;” and they appreciate my wisdom and thoughtfulness.
I provide grief therapy for adults:
I help people facing a difficult or challenging transition in their lives or relationships. I have experience in supporting those dealing with grief including death, dying, and current bereavement as well as those experiencing a loved one or parent dealing with aging issues.
You are feeling hurt, afraid and alone/unsupported. You need a healing space to process your feelings and learn your needs are just as important as the feelings of those who you love. You can develop ways to confidently express yourself!
You might be thinking things like “I am so stressed and I’d rather avoid my feelings;” “I can’t forget what my parents/church taught me even though it causes me harm today;” “I don’t like that people think I am un-approachable;” “I am a mess. What is wrong with me? Who could ever love me?”
Through therapy, you can feel secure, at ease, and unafraid to speak your truths.
I also provide couples and family therapy:
I help couples & families gain insight and healing when family and relationship issues are causing them pain; I provide them with understanding, education, and helpful interventions.
You feel hurt, alone, and fearful. You’re disconnected, hurt/wounded and this is resulting in increased conflict & concerns. You might be worried that nothing will change and that you’ll never feel understood. If you are struggling with aging, death and dying, or other grief–you might feel so isolated during this time and like no one can talk to you about how you are feeling.
Through therapy, you can feel connected, understood, and loved.
On a personal note…
In my spare time I enjoy going on walks, taking bike rides, being in nature, practicing yoga, baking for others, traveling, spirituality, exploring cultures, historical documentaries and listening to music.
