Hi! I’m Maegan.
I’m the type of therapist who knows how hard we work to keep our longterm relationships thriving; sometimes body changes, emotional or physical disconnection, or even neurodivergence can put additional stress on these relationships and cause us pain.
My clients tell me that I help them see their strengths and feel hope, even when they are worried that their partner doesn’t understand them or that they are never enough.
I provide therapy for adults:
I help people who feel like their minds are always racing, who struggle focusing, and who feel like no matter how hard they try they are always letting their loved ones down.
Here your partner comes again to say something like, “Well, if you cared you’d have remembered to do it.” You do care, though. A lot. And no matter what you say, it feels like they are more and more disappointed with you. You might have ADHD or you might deal with high stress and forgetfulness. Sometimes it feels like your emotions take over or you get very overwhelmed. Your loved ones might describe you as defensive–you feel a lot of pressure and it feels like you are never enough.
Through therapy, you can learn helpful strategies to help you feel more in control of your life–you also feel more compassionate and connected to yourself and others.
I also provide gender expansive therapy for adults:
I walk with people exploring their gender identity.
You might be feeling numb, scared, or tired. You’ve either come out to your partner as trans, or you’re exploring your identity and preparing to come out to people you care about. You are navigating fears, doubts, and insecurities around your relationship and your identity. You need a safe space to explore what is coming up for you, and you need a supportive outlet. You feel alone in your home; scared of losing your relationship; and worried you won’t ever feel comfortable as yourself in your skin. I’m not enough; I’m unloveable; What is wrong with me
Through therapy, you can feel supported, comfortable with yourself, and whole. Nothing is wrong with you. You ARE enough and you ARE lovable.
I also provide couples & therapy:
I help longterm, deeply committed couples get out of the “roommate” experience and reconnect emotionally & physically.
Maybe one of you has been longing for more sex while the other one feels pressure and guilt. Maybe one of you wants to feel a deeper emotional connection again–similar to how it used to be in early stages of your relationship. While you can’t imagine your life without this person, you’re worried that if it doesn’t get better you’ll be stuck with regrets or maybe one of you will even leave. This would be heart-breaking. You want this relationship to work!
Through therapy, you can explore your sexual connection and find ways to reconnect at this stage in your lives (even if stress, parenting, body changes, or identity shifts are playing a part). I can’t wait to support you!
On a personal note…
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked for over 10 years as a first responder and I’ve dealt first hand with trauma and burnout. I have a passion for working with folks from the LBGTIA+ community and those working to heal old wounds.
I identify as a queer, pan-sexual female of Hawaiian/Chinese/Southern American decent. I fill my cup by gardening, getting to the trees and mountains, spending time sharing amazing food with loved ones, and loving on my fur babies. I’ve also been with my partner for over a decade and I love teaching graduate students about gender & sexuality at USF!
I’m authentic, open, approachable, and value humor in my everyday life.
