emily kayson therapist sacramento

I help individuals & partners transform their painful experiences and embrace the truth of who they are so they can feel the joy, love, and hope they have been missing.

You can experience more fulfillment in your life and relationships! I’m here to support you.

I’m the type of therapist who will use warmth, curiosity, empathy, and humor to help you heal and feel more connected to yourself and others.

Maybe you’re feeling disconnected, uninspired, overwhelmed, disoriented, or shaken off your path.

Maybe you’ve found yourself repeating the same painful patterns in your relationships-the same arguments, sadness, frustration, and feelings of rejection pop up over and over again.

Maybe you’re facing a world that has given you the message that you’re not good enough–not a good enough person, partner, friend, or family member (it hurts so much).

Maybe you’ve recognized a small voice inside that says something isn’t right, a feeling that is urging you to seek support, to make a change.

I understand that the path that has gotten you here has not been a linear one. That seeking help is incredibly vulnerable, and I nod to your courage.

The therapy I offer is holistic, meaning that together we’ll address matters of the mind, body, heart, and spirit. My work is rooted in Gestalt psychotherapy, Jungian depth psychology, somatic trauma theory, and mindfulness based practices.

It is my goal to support your lived experience of resiliency, empowerment, agency, belonging, and love.

You deserve to feel loved and accepted by yourself and the people that matter most — I’m here to help you.

On a personal note, I love being outside and am obsessed with all things nature related. You can find me starting a new hobby and putting it down right after I get the hang of it. Things that bring me joy include (but are not limited to): cooking and sharing meals potluck style, observing my cat and making bids for his affection, live music and dancing, exploring and expanding the edges of my awareness, journaling, practicing magic, and trying not to take myself too seriously.

I tend to listen to and lead from my heart– I am sensitive and intuitive. I can also be quite silly and audacious. Just ask my cat.
