Sometimes we don’t have control over situations in our lives.
Ok, maybe more than sometimes—more like all of the time. (This has been a lifelong struggle for me. I’m human. )
We can think through decisions, put in our best efforts, consider consequences of our actions, all with an illusion of control.
We’ll still face disappointments, surprises, changes, devastations. Because we can’t predict the future…we don’t truly know the outcome of our actions. And this can be scary.
I still choose to act, hope, dream, strive for my desired outcomes, become disappointed, grieve, seek comfort, get up and try again. It can be hard, it can be beautiful. In those moments when I fall, these words of wisdom (and the Beatles song) bring me peace and comfort.
Sometimes it’s freeing to be reminded that control is an illusion. If this resonates with you, then hey–you’re human, too. Know you are not alone. ️
